The purpose of the Soil Laboratory is to ensure the study and research processes. The Soil Laboratory enables implementation of laboratory work for the study courses "Soil Science", "Environmental Chemistry" and "Baltic Sea Environment and Management" acquired by the students of the bachelor's study programmes in Environmental Science, Geography and Geology. The Soil Laboratory provides an opportunity for bachelor's, master's and doctoral students to develop their own research, and is a venue where the studies in natural geography and environmental science are conducted. Extracts of soils, mosses and other natural materials for metal analysis can be prepared in the laboratory.
- determination of soil and subsoil granulometric composition;
- soil pH;
- determination of total nitrogen content (Kjeldahl method);
- determination of total carbon content;
- determination of phosphorus content;
- analysis of cation exchange;
- analysis of other chemical parameters of soil.
- pH meter;
- UV-Vis spectrophotometer;
- total carbon analyser for liquids and solids;
- element analyser (for N and C determination);
- sampling devices and other equipment required for various soil and plant analyses.
